great location and great facilities!.

Old school charm. This hotel was really nice and cool. Staff were great and answered every question I had. We only stayed one night but would have liked to stay another night or two to explore more, but we had places to be. Thanks for a lovely short stay.

Wonderful

Hotel is very easy to locate, as so prominent on the canal, near to the Central Station, 5 mins walk. Very friendly staff in all areas with great knowledge of the buildings history as a major shipping office. Super spa to relax in after a day of walking. Would happily return one day.

Overall, very nice stay.

The building, the stairs, the elevator, the wooden doors… What a style! The staff was really nice.

The breakfast was quite disappointing. For 30€/pers, you expect a bit more.

What was the highlight of Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam

Would absolutely go again, but for a shorter stay.

Room was extremely clean, some reviews suggested that the appearance is dated but I think that's the charm with history involved with the property/building itself. The services such as the SPA, Sauna, Swimming Pool and Gym was incredibly nice. They offer a mini-fridge inside of the room which is complementary and it's always topped up which again is a huge plus The staff - Daria (Bar Tender) was the one person I think we'll always remember for ALWAYS having a smile and being incredibly positive alongside some of the other few staff that worked in the restaurant. Even when extremely busy they will do everything they can to keep you enjoying your stay. Top marks on that front.

The Television inside of the room wasn't exactly tourist friendly, almost every channel didn't work outside of two we found. Even then it was clouded by the sheer static on the connection which made it absolutely infuriating. The drinks/food were quite expensive for what they were, such as the steak - for such 2 small portions vs other traditional restaurants. The staff collectively were lovely but it was odd on occasion when you caught the odd weird glance from varying hotel staff which just made you uncomfortable interacting. Finally, the bed. Although some may love this - I wasn't a fan. The bed was too soft, it was quite rare I'd wake up without backpain because I traditionally sleep on a harder bed.

Great for a short city break!

Staff were super helpful and friendly, loved the location of the hotel (easy walk from central station and into the touristy areas of Amsterdam. Room was incredibly clean, comfy beds mini bar was a great bonus and great views over the canals.

We were disappointed that our room wasn’t attended to on the middle day of our trip. It didn’t feel 5 star when we returned from a day out (having left a please clean sign out) to find it still untouched 6hrs later. It would’ve felt more 5 stars had there been regular room tending to, and extras like vanity kits and face cloths being topped up!

Beautiful hotel, location could not be better.

The room was a great size. The bed very large and comfortable. The bath was huge and lovely for relaxing in. Everything was spotlessly clean.

€30 per person for a hotel breakfast is way too much in my opinion. We did not therefore take breakfast in the hotel at all during our 5 day stay.

There was some black mould in my shower. That is my only fault, everything else was perfect.

Absolutely delighted with my stay....wonderful location, great facilities and exceptional staff.

Staff were extremely diligent, friendly and helpful. Location was superb. Wellness area was well maintained with the facilities kept at a high standard. Room was comfortable, especially the bed. Rooms were maintained to a high standard.

There's not much I could complain about but, if I had to........ the room I was in was a very long walk from the hotel entrance and wellness area. The signage around the hotel (showing where rooms/wellness area were situated) could have been better (I found myself lost on a couple of occasions).

Great hotel, beautiful city.

Fab location so central and a short walk from the train station, friendly staff and amazing breakfast. The hotel itself is very grand indeed and very clean. The swimming pool and sauna’s were great.

We spent quite a lot of money on a superior deluxe room, unfortunately it’s really not worth the extra money as we were told by staff the superior deluxe rooms are just a bit bigger, that’s the only difference, expensive upgrade for not a lot extra! The room we got didn’t have any natural light as we were facing the court yard, so we had to have the lights on, which meant we had to have the curtains shut or the people opposite could see in. The hotel itself was lovely, but our actual room was a bit pants, which is a shame because it was expensive! We visited the leisure centre which was nice, however the steam room wasn’t working and the hot tub was lukewarm.

I left my mobile device at the room when I checked out, I called them to claim it, they were good in handling the claim. Location is awesome. Staff were good

1. Only one elevator and very slow 2. Breakfast is limited and no variety 3. Receptionists were calling me twice after 12pm for checkout , they have to be a little bit more flexible 4. No exit direction in floors , every time I got lost and don’t know how to get out

Wonderful

Good and spacious room! Modern bathroom, large and equipped with plenty of amenities. Also good supply of coffee and tea in the room. Staff was very efficient. The bar was charming and some good food and drinks for dinnertime. The wellness area was also very well built, plenty os space for saunas, steam room and infra-rouge and a good swimming pool. Last, the hotel is only few min walk away from the central station! All in all, a very good stay!
